Today, is a day that will live in infamy! Well, a few days ago… After hearing that big wig suit talk on stage with Steve Jobs at MacWorld about how Fox would be selling the latest Family Guy DVD with a copy that you can put on your ipod, I had to go out and see.
Yes it is true, the DVD comes with another DVD that has a copy that you can put on your ipod! Someone in the movie industry is finally thinking! Finally, there is a company allowing us to legally do what us Geeks have been doing as long as our ipods could play video!
I urge anyone and everyone to go out and buy Family Guy Blue Harvest to support this initiative. I cant vouch for the shows quality but I really want to support this. I’m sure this is only a test to see where it goes so we need to show the movie industry what we want.
I am from the school of thought that if you go into a store and buy a DVD you should be able to watch it on anything you own, including your ipod! Technically, if you have figured out how to break DVD copy protection to put a DVD on your ipod, you are breaking the law. Finally, the day has come. Please buy this DVD.
I have been asked repeatedly how to put music that was purchased in iTunes into another music device other than an ipod such as a Zen, Zune, Sansa etc. The process is pretty Simple.
First, burn the music in iTunes onto an audio CD. Make a playlist if necessary, then click the burn CD button at the bottom of iTunes.
Second, open up the software that you wish to use to sync with your non-ipod device like Windows Media player.
Third, rip the music you just burned into the new players software.
You will now notice that you can sync the music on that was on the CD freely with the device you want. The type of file, mp3, ogg, etc. is up to you.

Tab browsing allows you to view multiple web sites in one open Windows. This idea really reduces clutter on your desktop and just about all browsers are now on board.
In Firefox or Internet Explorer, all you have to do is type the web address in the URL area of the browser, then hold down the "Alt" key and tap the "Enter" key. In Safari on a Mac (latest version of Safari only), you hold down the "Apple" key and tap the "Enter" key.
There are a few web sites I use each day and I keep them up and running in my browser in multiple tabs. All I have to do view the other sites is click on a desired tab.

Most people know that tapping the Tab key will move you between active fields on a program, window, or from; but did you know you can move back a field by holding down "Shift" and pressing the "Tab" key?
For example, if you are filling out a form on a web site you can hit the tab key to move from one field to the next instead of using your mouse. If you need to backward, instead of using your mouse, use Shift+Tab.

Most may know how to click the Switch between Windows button on the task bar in Vista to get the new amazing way to switch windows but what is not commonly known is that there is a keyboard shortcut for it.
This new way of switching Windows is the Alt+Tab replacement. All you have to do is hold down the "Windows" key (the key with the Windows logo on it) and just tap the "tab" key.
Happy Window switching!

This keyboard shortcut is my favorite because it saves time and it really useful. Ever
been working in a program and deleted something accidentally? Hold down "Ctrl" and hit "Z."
The Ctrl+Z keyboard shortcut will not work on every program but you will find it works quite a bit and it very useful. It also works differently in certain software programs. Say you are in Word and you highlight all the text to change the font but oops! You hit the wrong key and everything is deleted. Most of you may know you can hit the undo key but hit Ctrl+Z, it will bring everything back. You will find that Ctrl+Z works differently is some programs. For example, in Photoshop you can only go back to the last thing you did, but in Dreamweaver you can keep hitting Ctrl+Z to keep going back all the way to what you have done since you last save one step at a time.
If you use a Mac, everything applies accept for you hit the Apple key instead of Ctrl.

Ever work on you computer and notice that your desktop is cluttered with too many windows and you need to get to one but it is covered by another. You could look at the taskbar to select it but here is a cool shortcut.
Hold down the "Alt" key and start tapping the "Tab" key. You will notice a small window pop up at the middle of your screen and each little icon you see on the window corresponds to an open Window. Just keep hitting the Tab key while holding down the Alt key until you get the window you want. Also you can hit Alt+Tab once and you will see the Window the active window you had active prior to the one you are currently using. Tap Alt+Tab again, and you will be returned back to the other window. I think I may have made that sound much more confusing than it needs to be, just try it out. Good luck.

Most die hard Apple fanboys and girls out there already know this but for any newbs to Apple the feature that allows you to scroll in a MacBook or MacBook Pro is really cool and time saving.
All you need to do is use two fingers on the touchpad instead of one while moving them up or down. Using two fingers on the touchpad will scroll if necessary in any active window or while in safari. This is especially helpful when navigating blogs or web sites where you need to scroll up or down. As far as I know, this is a fairly new feature that works on MacBooks that are a few years old.

Just as the file menu is hidden in Windows Vista explorer, it is also hidden in Internet Explorer 7. To get it back, all you need to do is click "Tools" in the upper right hand corner of IE7 and select "Menu Bar."

Many hate Microsoft for some of the crazy changes they made in Vista, but what most people don’t know is that Microsoft made Vista so that it can still work almost just like XP.
If you hate the fact that the file menu is missing in Windows Explorer (My Computer), just put it back. All you have to do is select "organize" in the upper left hand corner, then "layout," and finally click, "file menu." There are some other cool things in the layout area that will make your Windows Explorer navigation experience much better, just try some out by selecting them.
