Finally a robust backup solution. Just got my HP MediaSmart Server a few days ago and am messing around with it. I have to say I love the fact that there has been such a great array of available software for the server, way to do it right Microsoft.

Huge blunder that hampers my tinkering… No 64 bit support! My main system is 64 bit and there is still no compatibility with it. I have been told, possibly by CES this will change. I really hope so.

This little HP device is perfect for any Home or small business. Finally a cheap server for a business although Im sure Microsoft states somewhere in its ULA that it cannot be used for business. Who cares it works well. I will report back later when I have a more comprehensive idea of everything. BestBuy sells them online.

750 GB SATA 300 $150

Just like clockwork, after I spend $155, I find it cheaper. Although shipping makes it break even.

This is a good deal. 750 GB for $150 is a great price, I have yet to see cheaper. Prices on hard drives seem to not go lower than $50 for every 250 GB. You can get 500 GB for $100 pretty easy, 250 GB for $50 if you are really lucky, and now 750 GB for $150. Still the retail price on 1 TB drives remains high, they have not come down to $200 yet. Go to Outpost.com for this deal but time is essence, it wont be this price forever.

Omziff to encrypt

Ever needed to encrypt a file on a computer you could not install any software on? Omziff is a really cool stand alone application for windows that will encrypt files on the fly without you having to install any software or modify an computers registry.

For example, if you feel the need to store a file on a work or friends computer and you dont want them to know about it nor are you able to install software you could use this.
